Arc One Research

I have been working at the Arc One Research Lab as a Mechanical Engineer since September 2023, responsible for operating the Arc One wire arc additive manufacturing machine. This position involves a range of mechanical engineering tasks essential for the success of our research projects.

Key Responsibilities and Achievements:

  • Machine Operation and Optimization: Operate the Arc One machine, focusing on optimizing machine parameters to enhance print quality and extrusion rates. This involves fine-tuning mechanical settings to achieve the best possible results for each project.

  • Printing and Data Acquisition: Successfully printed single-bead and multilayer samples using Arc One and the XIRIS welding camera. Obtained and analyzed data from G-code and Powerwave Manager to monitor and improve print quality.

  • Modular Frame Design: Work with the machine's modular frame, which allows for quick adjustments and integration of new hardware. This modularity facilitates the adaptation of the machine for various research needs and enhances its versatility.
