Multi-Head Peristaltic Pump

During my internship at STERIS Corporation, I led the design and development of a new multi-head peristaltic pump device capable of flushing, dosing, and aspirating surgical equipment after surgery. This innovative design introduced a new function previously unavailable in the medical equipment industry, enhancing cost-effectiveness, fluid handling efficiency, and ease of serviceability. The project led to my first-ever patent filing and is now patent-pending, with the potential to advance the medical and scientific fields significantly.

Prototyping and Testing: Created detailed CAD models and prototypes using Creo Parametric, conducting rigorous testing to validate the pump head's performance and durability. This testing phase was critical for identifying and resolving potential issues for the next iterations.

Cost Reduction and Serviceability: Through strategic engineering and part integration, I was able to remove unnecessary components, leading to significant cost savings without compromising performance. This streamlined design also enhanced accessibility, allowing maintenance tasks to be performed quickly and efficiently.
